Planners laid out height ranges up to 10 stories for the Wilson Bridge corridor, prompting council to ask whether design oversight should expand there — and a longer debate over what 'historic character' should mean outside Old Worthington.

The Municipal Planning Commission tabled Crawford Hoying's 17.6-acre mixed-use proposal for West Wilson Bridge Road on July 9. Ten residents spoke — most in support — and nearly all of them talked about traffic.

At a second community meeting, Crawford Hoying detailed a walkable interior street, step-down building heights, and a riverside hotel for its West Wilson Bridge Road redevelopment, days before the project's first Municipal Planning Commission appearance.

Crawford Hoying presented its first public community meeting on plans to redevelop 400, 450, and 500 West Wilson Bridge Road into a mixed-use neighborhood with housing, retail, hotels, and office space.

Worthington City Council unanimously approved an $80,000 appropriation for engineering design services to resurface West Wilson Bridge Road from High Street to Olentangy River Road. The project will coordinate with a planned water main replacement to minimize disruption to residents and commuters.
