COTA Short-Range Transit Plan — Public Comment Deadline

Last day to weigh in on the transit plan that reshapes Worthington bus service for the next 5 years.

Last day to submit public comment on COTA's 2027–2031 Short Range Transit Plan, which retires Route 102, replaces it with the 15-minute Route 2N, adds east-west Route 35, expands weekend service, and adds overnight hours.

COTA's 2027–2031 Short-Range Transit Plan is a 5-year roadmap for transit investments across Central Ohio. Use the Service Proposals dashboard to drop in your address and see exactly which routes change. Submit feedback by the May 15 deadline.

Council votes on $4.7M in bond ordinances first read May 4 — swim facility, sewer, water.

Regular Council meeting with public hearings on three bond ordinances introduced May 4: up to $2.5M for the new outdoor swim facility, up to $1M for sewer improvements, up to $1.2M for water improvements.

Electric Aggregation Opt-Out Deadline

New 10.69¢/kWh rate locks in through June 2028 — opt out today if you'd rather stay on AEP's standard variable rate.

Final day to opt out of the City of Worthington's renewed electric aggregation program (10.69¢/kWh, June 2026–June 2028, 100% matched with wind RECs). Three ways to opt out through Direct Energy: mail (sign and return the form from the City letter), email aggregationsupport@directenergy.com, or phone 1-866-968-8065. Households are auto-enrolled if no action is taken.

Renewed two-year aggregation contract locks Worthington households at 10.69¢/kWh through June 2028, 100% matched with wind RECs. AEP Ohio still delivers and bills. Households who prefer AEP's variable standard rate must opt out by May 18 via Direct Energy (mail, email, or phone). Voters approved the program in 2018 with about 75% support.

Memorial Day Parade

Begins at High Street and Dublin-Granville Road, proceeds south on High Street to Cemetery Drive

The Worthington Memorial Day Parade, sponsored each year by the American Legion in Worthington, begins at 10:00 a.m. on Memorial Day. The parade starts on E. Dublin-Granville Rd. and proceeds south on High Street to Cemetery Drive. A ceremony takes place at Walnut Grove Cemetery at the conclusion of the parade. Contact the American Legion for information on how to enter your group in the parade.

Every Memorial Day, Leasure-Blackston Post 239 of the American Legion sponsors the Worthington Memorial Day Service. The parade starts at the American Legion Post and ends in Walnut Grove Cemetery at the Circle of Honor, where American Legion Post 239 holds its Memorial Day Service to honor fallen veterans. The Service begins following the parade, approximately at noon. Flags mark over 1,300 veteran grave sites in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
