Linworth Center renovation moves forward after fire damage; Mrs. Goodman's Bakery secures final approvals for new High Street location

Hello Worthington! Here's your recap of what happened at the December 11, 2025 Architectural Review Board and Municipal Planning Commission meeting. Below are summaries of the commercial and institutional projects that directly impact our community.

Linworth Center Renovation Approved After Fire Damage

Good news for shoppers who frequent the Linworth Center at 2145-2185 West Dublin Granville Road. Following a fire earlier this year that damaged the east end, the property owner is using the rebuild as an opportunity to modernize the entire 1957-era shopping center's facade.

The approved design features darker brick, aluminum siding with a wood-like appearance, and dark bronze storefronts. The board approved the project 5-0.

Mrs. Goodman's Bakery Clears Final Hurdles for New High Street Home

Mrs. Goodman's Bakery received final approvals Thursday for its new building at 1012 High Street, the former daycare site at Wilson Drive. The ARB approved the design 6-0 and the MPC granted the conditional use permit 4-0.

The Cape Cod-style building will feature gray brick with corbelled detailing, board and batten siding, and a slate-style roof—a departure from Worthington's traditional red brick that drew praise from board members for its craftsmanship. The bakery will operate with limited hours (approximately 9 AM to 2 PM) and a maximum of 10 employees, resulting in less traffic than the previous daycare.
